54 families of martyrs return their mementos in Sonitpur

On the current ongoing Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016, 54 martyrs’ family members of Sonitpur district have returned their mementos today through the ADC, K K Sarmah who is the in-charge Deputy Commissioner Sonitpur to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016. These mementos wareawarded by the Govt. of Assam along with one-time financial ad to families of 855 martyrs all over the state who had sacrificed their lives in the 6 year long Assam agitation. While receiving the mementos KK Sarmah said the mementos have been kept safely at District Administration and individual receiving issued to martyrs family. One of the family members said that it was a deep pain while returning the mementos, but for the future of Assam we will ready to give this sacrifice.
