District Commissioner-cum-Chairperson of the DRSC, Sonitpur, Shri Ananda Kumar Das today conducted a site inspection of the Singri Kali Sthan–Barchalla to Majbat–Kharupetia Road developed by PWD (Roads), Barchalla and Dhekiajuli Road Division under the Asom Mala initiative.
During the inspection, the District Commissioner reviewed various road safety issues at the accident-prone stretch and directed the concerned departments to take immediate necessary measures to prevent recurring accidents in the area.
The visit also included a detailed assessment of the possible causes behind frequent accidents and discussions on implementing road safety measures such as installation of adequate street lighting, permitted speed breakers, proper signage, and other essential safety interventions.
The inspection was attended by the Circle Officer of Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle, Member Secretary of DRSC Sonitpur, District Transport Officer, officials of PWD (Roads), along with other concerned officials.
