A general meeting of Human Right was held today here at the Human Rights Action Council Asom, Assam Chapter Tezpur Office premises. The meeting was presided over by Advisor of the HRACA, Advocate Goutam Sarkar.

While addressing the meeting, Director of HRACA Dr. Parashmoni Singha discussed various Human Rights issues on an increased violation in the State in presence of Samiran Singha, Field observer of HRACA Udalguri, Rased Ahmed, Field observer Sonitpur and Dipak Borah, Field observer Lakhimpur among others. Dr. Sinha appealed the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonwal to look the matter and take appropriate steps to stop the abuses and mushrooming of Human Rights Violation and talk on the recent incident took place in different parts of the state and said that this incident is very painful which should not have happened. These are happened due to ignorance, Superstition, false rumor, a lake of proper education & awareness.

Dr. Parashmoni Sinha further appealed the state Govt. to introduce Human Rights education in school curriculum Textbooks for class Six to Ten and he added that the Orissa Govt. has decided to introduce Human Rights education subjects as part of the textbooks for Six to Ten in form of a story, essay, and poem. Moreover, Orissa has become the first state in India to introduce Human Rights Education in the school curriculum.

Earlier, while addressing the welcome speech Goutam Sarkar stressed the need to create awareness among the people on their Rights and duties towards the Society.
