District administration appeals to all to renounce bandh call on October 23

 

Sonitpur District Administration has appealed to all people not to respond to the bandh call given by certain organizations on October 23 and has asked all Government Offices, Educational Institutions, Banks, Commercial Establishments, etc., to remain open as on normal days.

 

The meeting was held today at conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office chaired by Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Deka in presence of  Farouk Alam, DDC,  Addl Deputy Commissioners K.K. Sharma, Kulen Sarmah, Parag Kakati, various social organizations, traders’ bodies, trade unions, transport associations and heads of various Government departments and other senior district administration officials.

 

DC Deka asked the officials concerned to ensure all essential services remain available and directed all petrol pumps, ration shops, etc., to remain open so that normal life is not affected.

 

Attending the meeting, P.P. Singh, Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur said sufficient force will be deployed in all sensitive areas of the district and police patrolling will also be carried out. The public may report any untoward incident at the Police Control Room number 03712-232440 which has been opened for the purpose.
