The upcoming Lok Sabha Election, candidates from BJP, Congress, NCP and Independent have file nominations for Tezpur HPC. Altogether nine candidates filed nomination papers on the last day today for the Lok Sabha elections to the 9-Tezpur Parliamentary Constituency which will go to polls on the first phase to be held on April 11 next. The Nine candidates filed their nominations before the Returning Officer for 9-Tezpur HPC and Deputy Commissioner Sonitpur, Narsing Pawar. 

BJP has filled Pallab Lochan Das, State Cabinet Minister of Assam for the prestigious Tezpur constituency today.  The BJP candidate was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, PWD and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Local MLA Brindaban Goswami, Rajen Barthakur, Chairman of Assam Text Book publication and several other leaders.

While talking to the mediaperson, Hemanta Biswa Sarma said BJP will win by 10-11 seats in upcoming Assam Lok Sabha Election. “I have strong faith for the people of Tezpur that they will defiantly support us and clean seat BJP to ensure peace and development in Tezpur.”

On the other hand, Indian National Congress (INC) has filled MKGV Bhanu, former Additional Chief Secretary for the Tezpur constituency today along with Ripun Bora, President of Assam Congress and Rakibul Hussain, Senior Congress leader.

Independent candidate Ziabur Rahman Khan had filed his nominations on Friday last which takes the total number of nominations filed for 9-Tezpur HPC to ten. The nine candidates who filed their nominations today are Mahendra Orang of Voters’ Party International (VPI), Mahendra Bhuyan of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), independent candidate Iqbal Ansari, Ranvijay Kumar Rai of Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP), Bijoy Kumar Tiru of Adivasi National Party of Assam (ANPA), Ram Bahadur Sonar of National People’s Party (NPP) and Krishna Hari Paul of All India Hindustan Congress Party.
