Patanjali Senior Vice President apologizes for hurting Assamese peoples sentiments

After a long controversial comment on Assam and Assamese people given by the Senior Vice President of Patanjali Ayurved Limited that came in the New York Times on July 26. A press meet was held here at Office of the Sonitpur Journalist Union today to apologize and regret if it has hurt any Assamese peoples sentiments in what so ever manner said while addressing a press meet Dr. SB Singh, Senior Vice President (Projects, Technology), Patanjali Ayurved Limited IGC at Ghoramari around 20 km from Tezpur Town in Sonitpur district.

Singh further said that Patanjali not allows non-vegetarian food on their campus as there are lots of other large companies in India who do not allow non-vegetarian food on their campuses or offices. We promote vegetarian as our value system and for better health as proven by recent research. He added Patanjali is committed to employing local people. We are conditioning them mentally for work because they have no industrial work experience and we have several programs for such training.

He also said that it is more than evident that by publishing partial statements and out of context quotes, the entire intent and the meaning seems to have change for the people who are the very reason of our existence in Assam. We would like to reemphasize that we are there in Assam entirely for the people of Assam and will leave no stone unturned in ushering in the new area of development.
