Selfless Service of Ambulances in Sonitpur District

“Presently eleven Mrityunjoy (108) ambulances, seven Adoroni and nine 102 Ambulance service have been providing 24-hour service to the public in Sonitpur district.

The service selflessly provided to the common people in Sonitpur since 2008 has received a huge number of phone calls from the public seeking emergency services. On the other hand in Biswanath Chariali, 10 number of 108 Mrityunjoy ambulances, 6 Adoroni service and six 102 ambulance services have been providing emergency service to the people.

Moreover, till now 3,09,000 calls and 163 emergency calls have been received and among these calls 2,06,497 calls have been made in connection with health services. In response, 1,93,387 people have been provided ambulance service covering 19,739 road accidents cases, 76,661 delivery cases and 3,989 attempts to suicide cases.” This was revealed today by the authority of the well-acclaimed emergency service today.

ADC (Health) Kishan Kumar Sharma, Joint Director (Health), Sonitpur, Krishna Kemprai and managing director of the 108 service, Kaushik Sankar Saikia besides other officials were present at the press meet and briefed the media that in the State, a total of 380 108 ambulances are running and 135 old 108 ambulances will be replaced with new vehicles by 2019.
