Bura Chapori Wildlife Sanctuary

Situated on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River within the Sonitpur district, this sanctuary forms part of the Laokhowa-Burachapori ecosystem. It features a diverse landscape of wet alluvial grasslands, riparian zones, semi-evergreen forests, wetlands, and interconnected river systems. Spanning an area of 44.06 square kilometers, it serves as a habitat for a variety of wildlife, including the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, tiger, leopard, wild buffalo, hog deer, wild pig, and elephants.
