District Child Welfare and Protection Committee Meeting

On 12/03/2025, the District Child Welfare and Protection Committee meeting was organised by DCPU in DC Conference Hall. Dignitaries like Kavita Kakati Konwar, ACS Additional District Commissioner (WCD), Iris Armaan Ahmed, ACS Assistant Commissioner cum i/c DCPO, Chairperson & Members of CWC, various line depts., DCPU & Child Helpline Officials were present.

The i/c DCPO discussed the object briefing and presented the quarterly progress report of DCPU. The issues and challenges discussed were:

• Illegal Adoption cases are seen in some areas of the district which need to be intervene by Health Dept.

• Dedicated vehicles are needed for rescue operations and rehabilitation process.

• The victims from court order need to be produced before CWC by police immediately.

• The selling of intoxicated substance need to banned between 100 yards near school as per COTPA Act.

• Private Sponsorship need to raised for the children of Child Care Institutions for better upbringing.

• The regularisation of Children Home Snehabandhan fund need to be raised as soon as possible.
