“My India – Addiction Free India” Campaign under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Today, on 6th November 2024, an impactful awareness program on the Global Initiative on Tobacco was held under the “My India-Addiction Free India” campaign, as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Organized by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment in collaboration with the District Administration and Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, the event took place at Om Shanti Bhawan, Ketekibari, Tezpur.

Chief Guest District Commissioner Shri Ankur Bharali, ACS graced the occasion, inaugurating the program with a lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Sachin Parab, Hypnotherapist, Counselor, and Corporate Trainer, was the Special Invitee and Guest Speaker. Dr. Parab shared invaluable insights on addiction and strategies to overcome it.

Key attendees included ADC (WCD) Dyotiva Bora, District Social Welfare Officer, District Nodal Officer (National Tobacco Control Program, Sonitpur), Inspector of Schools, Teachers, CRCCs, ICDS functionaries, NGOs working on de-addiction, and the DHEW (District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Sonitpur) – Technical Support Team. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of around 300 participants.
