Kenduguri Than is located at Dekachuburi Gatanga, approximately 7 km from Tezpur town. According to local belief, around 150 years ago, a Kendu tree and its root (guri) were planted in opposite directions, which is how the place got its name, Kenduguri. Near this site stands a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. During the Holi festival, the “Pal Nam” festival is celebrated here, attracting thousands of devotees for worship. It is also believed that tying a white ribbon around the tree grants the fulfillment of one’s dreams and wishes.
