Tezpur Court and its adjoining areas: Since Vedic period Lord Surya has been popular deity. King used to worship seeking his blessing and brightness. In the year 1906 a Famous archeologist Dr T. Bloc mentions as “Modern civil stations of Tezpur and Guwahati stand on large mounds which contain the remains any ancient cities” and in the same year, during that period while digging for construction of building near main Tezpur court building some architectural remains few of these were found few of these were shifted to Chitralekha Park Udyan and planters club near Tezpur tourist lodge.
