Sonitpur Continues Flood Relief Support for Sivasagar

Under the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Sonitpur District Administration continues to provide support to the flood-affected people of Sivasagar district under the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Dispatch Details (25 July 2026)

On 25 July 2026, a total of 3,300 Relief Food Packets were dispatched in 10 trucks, escorted by a Magistrate to ensure safe and timely delivery.

Each Relief Food Packet contains:

Rice: 8 kg
Dal: 2 kg
Salt: 0.5 kg
Mustard Oil: 1 litre

Note: 700 of these packets additionally include one packet of candles and one packet of matchboxes to assist households facing power disruptions.

Additional items included in the 25 July dispatch:

Biscuit Packets: 93,600
Drinking Water (500 ml bottles): 50,000

To date, Sonitpur district has dispatched a cumulative total of 17 trucks carrying:

3,300 Relief Food Packets
2,21,600 Biscuit Packets
1,69,000 Bottles of Drinking Water (500 ml)

Ongoing Efforts

Further Supplies: In line with state-wide measures, the Sonitpur District Administration is preparing to dispatch additional relief materials on 26 July 2026.
Administrative Oversight: Under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, District Commissioner Shri Ananda Kumar Das, officers of the District Administration, DDMA Sonitpur, the Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs Department, and other concerned departments continue to make sustained efforts to ensure assistance reaches affected communities.
