A preparatory meeting was held today at Conference Hall-I of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sonitpur, to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026.
The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Shri Ananda Kumar Das to plan the district-wide observance scheduled for 21st June across Sonitpur.

- Event Organization: Planning for official district-level and co-district-level yoga programmes.
- Protocol Training: Conducting training sessions on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP).
- Competitions & Awareness: Organizing yoga competitions across different age groups alongside targeted publicity campaigns.
- Healthcare Center Activities: Observing IDY 2026 at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and other district health facilities.
- Mass Participation: Driving maximum public engagement by collaborating with government departments, educational institutions, civil society organizations, yoga practitioners, and youth groups.
Directives from the District Commissioner
The District Commissioner directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination to guarantee a seamless execution of the event.
Additionally, participants were encouraged to actively join the online Yoga sessions initiated by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and to promote wider community involvement as part of the nationwide celebration.
