







The two day event of “Advantage Assam 2.0 Memorandum of Understanding” agreement signing program has been completed successfully in Sonitpur district.
A total of 73 MoUs were signed , paving the way for an investment of ₹523.13 crores in the district.
Further, 39 numbers of sanction letters amounting to Rs. 9.60 crores distributed amongst the borrowers of different banks.
In this event, the investment representatives and the General Manager of the District Industries and Commerce Centre, on behalf of the Assam Government, signed the agreements. The District Commissioner was also present, acting as a witness throughout the process.
As a result of this investment in Sonitpur, the State government will employ nearly 1,000 young men and women, both directly and indirectly.
To facilitate the establishment of industries in the district, the State Government created a Land Bank. This includes 300 bighas at Dighali Chapori, 48 bighas in the Dolabari Industrial Area, 7 bighas in the Gotlong Industrial Area, and 30 bighas in the Dhekiajuli Industrial Area. The government developed the infrastructure for communication to these industrial areas.
Shri Ankur Bharali, District Commissioner, Shri Lakhinandan Saharia, District Development Commissioner, Sonitpur, Shri Margen Mestan, GM,DICC, Sonitpur as well as Officials of various government departments and registered interested investors and entrepreneurs attended the program.
The MoU signing event showcases the district administration’s commitment to creating a favorable business environment and promoting industrialization in the region.
