Singri Gupteshwar Mandir

Located about 45 km west of Tezpur, Singri Temple (Sree Sree Gupteshwar Mandir) is believed to have been built by Saint Rishi Sringa, the son of Rishi Bibanduk, to meditate and please Lord Shiva. The temple, hidden from others, is also known as Gupeswar or Gupteshwar, as the Shiva Lingam remains submerged under water, giving it the name “Gupteshwar.” The temple’s unique feature attracts devotees seeking spiritual solace.
