Sonitpur DC Reviews Progress of Disaster Mitigation and PDNA Schemes

Tezpur, Sonitpur: The District Commissioner cum Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Sonitpur, Shri Ananda Kumar Das, chaired a crucial review meeting today to assess the implementation of key disaster management initiatives in the district.

Held at Conference Hall-I of the DC Office, the meeting focused on the progress and execution strategies for three vital schemes:

National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF)
State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF)
Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA)-2022

Key Highlights & Discussions

Overcoming Roadblocks: Officials held detailed discussions on the status of ongoing projects, identifying implementation challenges and outlining measures for timely project completion.
Inter-Departmental Collaboration: The meeting was attended by top administrative officials, including Shri Kamal Baruah (CEO, DDMA), Shri Manash Kumar Saikia (CDC, Naduar), and Shri Manas Jyoti Nath (CDC, Dhekiajuli), alongside Circle Officers.
Technical Synergy: Executive Engineers from the Water Resources (WRD) and Roads (PWRD) departments, along with officials from Soil Conservation, Education, and Women & Child Development, participated to ensure seamless, multi-sectoral execution.

The Chairman emphasized the need for urgent and effective execution to strengthen the district’s long-term disaster resilience.
