TEZPUR — Following a tragic road accident on May 25, 2026, that claimed the life of a Class IX student, District Commissioner Shri Ananda Kumar Das today conducted a field visit to the Dekargaon area to assess and implement critical road safety measures.
The District Commissioner was accompanied by a high-level official team, including:

Key Inspection Sites and Focus Areas
- Dekargaon (Near Tezpur Airport Tiniali): The administration inspected the accident site to evaluate immediate safety interventions. The team focused on identifying strategic locations for speed breakers and additional road safety infrastructure to prevent future accidents and regulate speed zones near schools and intersections.
- Kunderbari (Railway Station Approach Road): Moving beyond the accident site, the team also inspected the railway station approach road to address growing transit demands. Officials assessed local traffic management requirements and evaluated the current parking capacity to streamline vehicular movement and minimize congestion in the area.
The field visit underlines the district administration’s commitment to proactive urban traffic management and ensuring safer roads for commuters and students alike.
