District Commissioner Meets Inspiring Cyclists Championing Social Causes

District Commissioner of Sonitpur, Shri Ananda Kumar Das, ACS, met and interacted today with two inspiring cyclists at the Office of the District Commissioner, Sonitpur.

Empowering Women Through Cycling

Shri Das met with national athlete, cyclist, and mountaineer Ms. Aasha Malviya. She is currently undertaking an extraordinary cycling expedition of approximately 7,800 km from Jaipur to Kibithu. Her journey aims to:

• Promote women’s empowerment.
• Raise awareness on critical issues concerning women’s safety, education, and empowerment.

Pedaling for Environmental Conservation

The District Commissioner also met with Shri Pappu Ram Choudhary, popularly known as the “Oxygen Man of India.” He is currently on a nationwide cycling and environmental awareness mission dedicated to:

• Promoting physical fitness.
• Advocating for sustainable living and environmental conservation.

Appreciating their dedication and inspiring efforts towards social awareness and nation-building, Shri Das conveyed his best wishes to both cyclists for the successful completion of their respective endeavours.
