Haleswar Temple

Haleswar Temple, located near Tezpur, is an ancient temple of great historical and spiritual significance. It is believed to have originated during the time when the capital of Kamrupa was established at Harupeswar. The temple was initially built to enshrine the Linga and was later reconstructed in 1705 A.D. by King Rudra Singha of the Ahom dynasty. The site continues to be a revered place of worship and a reminder of the region’s rich cultural heritage.
