Bamuni Pahar , located about 3 km from Tezpur town on the banks of the Brahmaputra River, is an archaeologically significant site. The area is scattered with numerous stone remnants that, according to experts, date back to the 8th and 9th centuries. Archaeologist R.D. Banerjee suggested that the site once housed seven temples. Six of these temples were situated within a rectangular plot, with four positioned at the corners and two at the center. The seventh temple was located to the east. The ruins stand as a testament to the rich historical and architectural heritage of the region
