The Royal Aawas Tezpur bagged the best Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) project under the Lower Income Group (LIG) category in Assam. The award was presented to CEO of Royal Aawas, Saurav Pansari on behalf of Royal Group, Assam. The Award was given by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri. The award function was held at The PMAY-Empowering India Awards 2019 in Delhi on 05 Mar 2019.
Royal Aawas is a residential society with 6 blocks and 244 units. It consists of PMAY compliant homes.
The PMAY is an initiative the by Government of India in which affordable housing will be provided to the urban poor with a target of building 20 million affordable houses by 31 March 2022. To meet the aim, houses should be built at a rate of 30 lakh houses per year.
