Child Labourer rescued in Sonitpur

In a venture of District Administration to prevent child labour, the Sonitpur Labour department, along with District Child Protection Unit, Sonitpur, with the help of Chariduar police has rescued a minor working in a house from Chariduar area in Sonitpur District.

While taking to this Correspondent, Harshajyoti Phukan, Child Protection Officer said, based on specific information, rescued in a joint operation of the Labour Department, Chariduar Police and Child welfare Committee, led by Jagannath Pokhrel, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Sonitpur raided Yesterday in the house of Hitendra Phukan, Chief Manager of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Tezpur zone at Chariduar Power Grid Corporation campus under Chariduar PS in Sonitpur District and rescued one minor engaged as domestic help. Phukan further added the boy is an inhabitant of Rampur area in Lakhimpur District. He was handed over to Softseed, Tezpur for his rehabilitation, said Phukan.
